Startup Monitor - This should be your first line of defense. StartupMonitor is a small utility that runs transparently (it doesn't even use a tray icon) and notifies you when any program registers itself to run at system startup. It prevents those utterly useless tray applications from registering themselves behind your back, and it acts as a security tool against trojans like BackOrifice or Netbus. Freeware Bulk Rename Utility is a utility which allows you to easily rename files and directories, based upon flexible criteria. Add date-stamps, replace numbers, insert strings, convert case, add auto-numbers....plus loads more! The utility is easy to use and has a small memory “footprint” so can be left resident without consuming all your memory. It adds a usefull right click in explorer for easy use. Freeware Directory Printer - The JR Directory Printer utility allows you to print a listing of every subdirectory and/or file contained within a directory and/or subdirectory. It supports lowercase/dos style filename, file size in KB/bytes, attributes, custom file length, etc. It creates a .txt file that if opened in wordpad - NOT notepad alowes you to use the find and replace function to trim off the path names and use the useful search function. A must for creating lists of files on CD/DVD or your hard drive. Freeware AVI Preview - A program which is capable of playing partially downloaded AVI movies. To make it unique, it is capable of playing files which are in the stage of downloading. Preview AVI, divX, MPG, MPEG and VideoCD files without interruption of the download process Freeware Winmx 3.31 - Want to go back to the old version? Please advise when this link is discontinued LeecHammer is a FREE Windows program designed to work in tandem with WinMX and help eliminate leeches from your upload queue. Only works with Version 3.31 and is reported to be a resource hog. Mx Monitor - MXMoni is a far better solution to leeches. English page on the Japanese site, don't expect more than the download.
